U.S. Senator Edward Markey endorsed Nick Cocchi for Sheriff of Hampden County today, Thursday, November 3, 2016. Markey took time from his busy schedule and less than one week from the national elections to be in Springfield at Cocchi’s campaign headquarters to make the endorsement.
“A few months ago in Holyoke, Senator Markey and I had an opportunity to meet with others vested in the battle to confront the opioid crisis. We spent some time together discussing our mutual concerns and respective efforts. I was so impressed with his compassion for those afflicted with addiction and that he knew well of the nationally recognized accomplishments of The Hampden County Sheriff’s Department. To receive his endorsement for Sheriff of Hamden County is great for our campaign, but much more, it is a great promise of what we can achieve together if I should earn the right next Tuesday, November Eighth to serve as our next Sheriff,” said Cocchi.
Cocchi has also been endorsed by U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren and U.S. Congressman Richard E. Neal.
